Follow your nose with Fragonard
Discover the secrets of perfume-making in Paris
As the sweet smell of spring fills the air, Pavillon des Lettres is inviting guests to follow their noses and discover the art of perfume-making in a brand-new partnership with Fragonard’s Nouveau Musée du Parfum. During a fragrance-filled weekend, aroma enthusiasts will learn all about the world of perfume, take part in a perfume-making masterclass and create their very own signature scent…
The scented adventure will begin with a guided tour of the Nouveau Musée du Parfum; guests will learn the history behind the world-famous Fragonard perfumery, the science of ingredients and essences and the essential techniques of smell, composition and evaluation. Inspired by their new-found knowledge, guests will enjoy a 90-minute masterclass, focussed on the composition and personalisation of an Eau de Cologne. Led by an expert parfumier, guests will learn how to create a unique fragrance using nine essences, walking away with a personalised perfume, signed diploma and Fragonard bag and apron.
Set in the heart of Paris, just around the corner from Opera Garnier, the Nouveau Musée du Parfum is designed in the style of 19th century perfume factory. Visitors can discover the secrets of the perfume trade in a space that combines ancient artefacts, archives and interactive videos. The museum is home to an impressive collection of precious objects tracing the history of perfume from antiquity to the present day.
A short walk from the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysées, the Jardins des Tuileries and more, guests can spend the rest of their weekend exploring the lavish streetscapes of this central Paris neighbourhood. There will be plenty of time for a pre-dinner drink or night cap at the hotel’s honesty bar before settling into bed for the perfect night’s sleep.
With 26 rooms and suites each dedicated to a different letter of the alphabet – and in turn a great writer from European literary history – Paris’ love of language and literature is embedded in the bricks of this boutique hotel. From B for Baudelaire, S for Shakespeare and Z for Zola, each room uses quotes from classic writing within its design, inspiring a restful night’s sleep.
Combining a deeply comfortable overnight stay with a unique olfactory experience, a sweet-smelling weekend in Paris is just a spritz away…
